Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City - Chau Doc (L)
Our tour starts with a drive through the Mekong Delta to the town of My Tho for a visit to the local markets. After browsing through the markets we will board our riverboats for a cruise along the endless waterways of the mighty Mekong. One of our stops will be to Xeo Quyt Forest, which was a old Vietcong stronghold during the American War. From here we will continue onto Long Xuyen where we will board our vehicle for the drive to Chau Doc.
Day 2: Chau Doc - Can Tho - Vinh Long (B, L)
Chau Doc town is situated close to the Cambodian border. While here we will be guided through a bonsai garden before heading up Sam Mountain for a birds eye view over the paddy fields towards Cambodia. Once off the mountain we visit a fish farm. From Chau Doc we drive to Can Tho for a tour around the city. From Can Tho we drive to Vinh Long where we board our private boat for a cruise to a lush tropical orchard. Tonight we will be accommodated with a local family in their house on stilts. Mattresses, mosquito nets and pillows are provided. This is a unique opportunity to closely observe life in the Delta.
Day 3: Can Tho - Ho Chi Minh City (B, L)
Rising early to the sounds of the Delta coming to life for another day, we have breakfast and start our trip with a boat cruise on sparking streams along the endless waterway of Mighty Mekong River to Cairang and Phongdien floating markets. There will be hundreds of boats loaded with fruits, vegetables and fish jostling for trade. Sellers advertise their wares by crying out across the water, we then visit the lush orchards and are treated to a delicious tropical fruits. In the afternoon, drive back to HCMC
