Bac Ha fair attracts many people from the surrounding villagers who come to trade and barter animals, food, household goods and clothes. Some people from remote and high villages have to walk in the early morning to come here. The market was very crowded, local products for sale or barter are carried on horseback. People come to Bac Ha market not only to buy what they want and sell their products, but also to meet each other and exchange culture and sentiment. From the early morning on Sunday, a lot of people and horses pour to the market on all paths and mountain roads. It is very easy to see throngs who always sit together and eating Soup Pan (Thang Co), drinking wine and chatting.

Soup Pan (Thang Co) is a specialty of Bac Ha market. This strange dish is a traditional dish of the Mong ethnic group mountainous north-western region. This dish made of horse meat is the symbol of Mong culture. There are over 20 stalls selling Soup Pan in the market.
