With the voting by over 1 million Smart Travel Asia’s readers, the Hanoi city moved up one step compared to 2012, maintaining one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Vietnam.
The city has also been elected one of the top 10 destinations in Asia by the magazine’s readers for many times, reflecting the efforts of the city authority and the tourism sector in creating a civilised, safe, and friendly tourism environment to attract foreign visitors.
The number of foreigners to Hanoi still sees high increases despite the low rising level of foreign tourists to other country’s destinations due to the economic crisis.
The city estimated to welcome 1.9 million foreign arrivals in the first nine months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 20 percent, and 11.72 million domestic tourists, up 11.7 percent over the same period last year.
