Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 : PHNOM PENH

Lunch & Dinner

The cruise starts at 9am at Titanic restaurant on Phnom Penh’s riverside.

From here, you will be escorted to your home-away-from-home for the next three days. Our cruise manager will meet you as you climb on board with a warm welcome and drink before giving a mini tour of the boat and showing guests to their cabins.

We will then leave Phnom Penh and set sail along the Tonle Sap river towards the ancient Cambodian capital of Oudong.

The boat will anchor at Koh Chen, which is famous countrywide for its silver work. Here, you can watch the silversmiths at work and barter for a few bargain bits of jewelry. A local lunch is enjoyed back on board, before a visit to nearby Oudong Mountain. Between 1618 and 1866, Oudong served as the country’s capital. Tackling the 509 steps to the peak is rewarded with unparalleled views, and a series of historic stupors, tombs, temples and memorials that can be explored.

Guests return to the Mekong Dawn for sun downers as we set sail for our overnight destination of Kampong Tralach. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a leisurely dinner prepared by our expert chefs before bedding for a peaceful night’s sleep.

Day 2 : KAMPONG CHHNANG

Breakfast & Lunch & Dinner

Wake up to breakfast before visiting the Buddhist temple of Kampong Tralach via ox cart – a traditional mode of transport that is still commonly used in rural areas. The next port of call is Kampong Chhnang, where, upon arrival, a freshly prepared lunch can be enjoyed.

After eating, guests are transferred to the local port to access the town’s famous pottery villages via small boat. In Khmer, chhnang translates to pottery, and this area is famous across the country for its produce. Meet some of the local craftsmen, who travel across the Kingdom to sell their goods, and watch them work.

Tuk tuks will be used to get around the villages – the perfect way to watch the stunning scenery of this province pass by. Think emerald green paddies dotted with sugar palms, water buffaloes lazily grazing in shimmering, lotus-lined ponds, and smiling children screaming ‘hello’ from the stilted wooden houses they call home.

We will then return to the Mekong Dawn in time to watch the sun set over the river as the ship sails to Chhnok Tru, where we anchor for the final night.

Day 3 : SIEM RIEP

Breakfast & Lunch

Wake up to a spread of local and continental cuisine, eaten to the stunning backdrop of sunrise, as the boat meanders towards Kampong Luong.

After docking we will hop onto a smaller boat that will take us to the unique floating village, which sits on the expansive Tonle Sap lake. Renowned for its hand-crafted potteries, these fishing communities live their life on the water, with floating schools, temples and homes aplenty.

Guests will return to the boat to pack and prepare to disembark before transferring to a private, air-conditioned coach to enjoy more stunning scenery as we make our way to the final destination of Siem Reap.
