Continue onward to the spiritual heart of the country, Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its gilded temples, saffron-robed monks, and French-Indochinese architecture. On your arrival at Chiangkong – Huay Xai Immigration Check-Point, proceed with formalities and then take a private slow boat trip down south along the Mekong River to Pakbeng (lunch en route).
Overnight in Pakbeng in riverside accommodation.
After breakfast, continue by boat to Luang Prabang. On the way visit several hill tribe villages, onwards to famous Pak Ou caves known as Tham Ting. Visit rice wine distillation village at Ban Sanghai and arrive at sunset in Luang Prabang. Overnight in chosen hotel.
Full day city tour of this ancient capital city of the Lao Kingdom beautifully situated on the Mekong surrounded by hills.
Visit Wat Visoun, Wat May, Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Praphuthabat, The National Museum known as former Royal Palace then followed sunset watch over the Mekhong river and panoramic view of Luang Prabang City on Chomsi/Phousi Mountain.
Full day excursion to visit the picturesque Khuang Si waterfalls (picnic lunch on site). Swimming recommended in the clear natural pools. Late afternoon return to Luang Prabang to visit Ban Phanom weaving village and Ban Sangkong village (natural paper making process from mulberry trees).
Very early start (5:45am) drive to Ban Vat Sean to discreetly watch long lines of monks collecting alms’s ceremony then back for breakfast.
Check out from hotel and then visit the former Royal Palace and transfer to the airport for short flight to Vientiane. On arrival to the new capital transfer to hotel and free leisure time.
Full day city tour of Vientiane, visit Wat Prakeo ( the original home of the emerald Buddha) , Wat Sisaket (the house of thousand Buddha images). In the afternoon, visit Anousavari (Vientiane’s own Arc de Triomphe), Pha That Luang stupa (the stupa that kept the relic of Lord Buddha)and followed by shopping at Morning Market.
After an early breakfast, transfer to airport for dawn flight to Pakse.
Upon arrival meet our guide, then excursion by road (the old coffee road ) toward Tat Lo in the heart of the Boleven Plateau. En route, stop over at Km 35 to visit the famous Tat Fan waterfalls and ethnic villages in the surrounding countryside. Tat Lo and Phasuam falls.
Then evening drive back to Pakse, over night in Pakse.
A.M. take a drive to Champasack to visit Wat Phou (Khmer ruins dating to the 11th century ) then take a drive toward Kong Island, on the way visit local Phasouay Waterfalls and local villages such Alak, Katou.,etc. then continue our trip to Kong Island.
Overnight at Kong Island.
After an early breakfast, catch a boat for hour trip to Done Khone island. Visit the famous Li Phi ( Devil’s Corridor), if you are lucky you catch a glimpse of the famous Irriwady fresh water dolphins and the remnants of the French colonial area ( old pier, stream rail way, former French hospital buildings and Messagerie Maritime Offices) then catch the ferry boat to Ban Nakasang village and drive to visit Khon Phapheng ( Niagara of Asia ).
Return trip to Pakse. Overnight.
After breakfast, free at your leisure/doing shopping until the time to transfer to the airport.
